Grants Oak Smoked Ltd has become the first smoked salmon producer in the UK to receive Best Aquaculture Practice (BAP) accreditation.

“To qualify for the accreditation, BAP examined every aspect of our business, from our premises, the fish we use and the environmental, food safety and working procedures we follow," said owner Jonathan Brown.

Grants supplies smoked salmon products to major retailers, hotels, restaurants and food suppliers internationally.

The certification, from the Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA), covers the entire seafood production chain, from hatcheries and feed mills to farms and processing facilities.
