Salmon sales at UK retail climbed 1.3 percent in the 52 weeks through Feb 23, to just under £930 million (€1.1 billion/$1.2 billion), up from £918 million (€1.1 billion/$1.2 billion) in the same period a year earlier, according to figures from market research company Nielsen.
Similarly, volumes also surged 4.7 percent to 53,583 metric tons, up from 51,199 metric tons in the comparable period, and unit sales were also up 3.2 percent to 232.5 million in the period.
