Raw skipjack tuna prices have continued a steep decline that began in April, hitting THB 1,000 (€28.7/$32.3) per kilogram in June -- the lowest they’ve been since 2016. But those in the tuna sector say they are prepared to weather the storm.

“Tuna prices are traditionally volatile with periods of rising prices often being followed by corresponding periods of declining prices," Princes Group Director of Fish Neil Bohannon told IntraFish.

“Whilst prices have fallen in recent months, they were on the rise earlier this year.
