Tuna giant Starkist is fully supporting the Trump administration's additional tariffs on tuna being imported into the United States from China.
Andrew Choe, president and CEO of Starkist, submitted comments to United States Trade Representative (USTR) Robert Lighthizer Sept. 6, stating the company "supports the government's proposed assessment of additional duties on Chinese-origin tuna and tuna products as an effective means to pressure the Chinese government to change its actions."
Choe described Starkist as an "American success story," that has "steadfastly focused upon sustaining business operations on US soil, despite the competitive disadvantages."
