The Spanish agency of food security, Aecosan, issued the recall of canned tuna products produced and distributed by Frinsa del Noroeste following reports of botulism.

The batch of the canned tuna was distributed to discounter Dia outlets and sold under the retailer's brand in nine different regions. It was recalled as authorities confirmed the product was the source of the clostridium botulinum bacteria.

Four people were taken to hospital following the intoxication, of which three have already been discharged.
