Senate committee approves bill to ban GM salmon imports

The US Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously approved a bill which will renew a ban on genetically modified (GM) salmon imports, reports the Juneau Empire. 

“This is important stuff to our local economies,” Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski said before the committee approved the bill.

The bill now faces a full Senate vote.
