The Scottish Seafood Association (SSA), a national body representing Scotland’s seafood, processing and trading sector, is challenging ministers to address several blockages standing in the way of the sector’s development and modernization.

"Ministers have agreed to support focused management to help steer the industry towards a profitable future through innovation and the identification of potential efficiencies,” said Jimmy Buchan, executive officer at the SSA, following a meeting with the Scottish minister for public finance and digital economy Kate Forbes at Nolan Seafoods in Aberdeen.
