Montreal entrepreneur Allen Mouradian was traveling through Hawaii last April when he discovered poké -- and then proceeded to eat it every day of his three-week stay.
"When I came back to Montreal, I said 'I have to open one of these here,'" Mouradian told IntaFish. "It's a new trend that's coming up and I wanted to be the first one on the East Coast of Canada to open up a poké place."
Just over a year later, a "long tough year" for the restaurant world newbie, Mouradian opened his first restaurant ever and Montreal's first poké place, Le Poké Bar right in the heart of the city's downtown.
