If supermarkets are to survive the onslaught of online competition, they have to adapt and provide experiences that the Internet can't, a concept that Hana Group understands and has implemented globally, its UK Managing Director Jason Danciger told IntraFish.

Hana Group's in-store sushi and cooked meal concept is getting people back to the brick-and-mortar stores, in the process propelling its presence from zero to 80 supermarket kiosks in the United Kingdom in just two years, the company said.

Imagine a food kiosk in your local grocer that hand rolls sushi right in front of your eyes, or stir-fries salmon or tuna in your favorite Asian curry.
