Warmwater shrimp posted huge gains in volume sales in the 52 weeks through Aug. 13, according to market research firm Nielsen.
Warmwater shrimp sales reached 17,230 metric tons on the year, a whopping 16.7 percent rise over the year prior. By value, sales rose 11.1 percent to £252.4 million (€299.4 million/$336.6 million) versus the year prior.
Chilled warmwater shrimp showed the strongest growth, with sales reaching 10,882 metric tons worth £178.4 million (€211.6 million/$238 million), a rise of 19.2 percent and 13.1
