Overall fish and seafood sales recovered at UK retailers in the 52 weeks through Dec. 3, despite sluggish demand in the frozen and ambient segments, according to the latest data by market research firm Nielsen.

The country's retailers sold a total of 329,626 metric tons of fish and seafood, valued at £3.1 billion (€3.6 billion/$3.8 billion), which was up 0.3 percent and 1 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Chilled remained the biggest category and saw impressive growth figures both in terms of value and volume.
