Cod and haddock sales continued their strong upward trend at British retail outlets, according to latest data from Nielsen through Sept. 10. Pollock sales, on the other hand, slumped significantly year-on-year.

Overall cod sales grew 6.1 percent in volume from 43,864 to 46,528 metric tons year-on-year. Sales value jumped 5.6 percent from £356.1 million (€399 million/$436.1 million) to £376.2 million (€421.6 million/$460.7 million).

Haddock sales also saw solid growth in the 12 months covered by the data.

Volumes sold at UK retailers amounted to 19,283 metric tons, which is up 2 percent from 18,192 metric tons in the previous year.
