Visitors to this year's International Boston Seafood Show were able to take a close-up look at Laitram Machinery's new shrimp peeling concept for coldwater processing.
At first glance, the Model P200 Peeler is similar in appearance to the familiar Laitram Peeler design known to shrimp processors worldwide. The important difference in the newer machine is the absence of the lower peeling section.
In the standard Laitram peeler, the function of the lower section (with its more aggressive peeling action) is to ensure a more complete peel of raw material.
