Chennai, India-headquartered startup Aqua Connect hopes to become the "Amazon for seafood" and it's making first headway in the country's shrimp industry.

The company, founded by Raja Manohar, a technology entrepreneur with extensive experience in building internet and technology-driven businesses, and Sanjai Kumar, an aqua farmer for more than 25 years, has developed an app for shrimp farmers.

The goal? To help them save money when negotiatiating feed and seed deals and in the search for the best buyers of their crops.
