Swedish furniture giant Ikea is trialing a delivery service in central Paris for food items, including salmon and meatballs sold at its stores, El Confidencial reports.

The multinational retailer could opt to extend the service to Spain other countries should the trial prove successful.

Separately Ikea is also trialing a takeaway food service in the Netherlands, the company confirmed.

Ikea's foodservice operations annually serve some 680 million people, the report said.
