Thai Union formed its Chinese entity two years ago and has since built a strong customer base, but there are many challenges in what is one of the most complex, fast-moving markets in the world, Emerging Markets Managing Director Sanjeev Pant tells IntraFish.

Already working within the Alibaba ecosystem for some time, with new retail concept Hema, RT-Mart and Tmall, the recent Memorandum of Understanding with Alibaba supply chain subsidiary Win-Chain came at the right time for Thai Union and was a “good and strategic fit."
