Groceries stores across the United Stores are rolling out new versions of classic Gorton's frozen seafood favorites.

Chris Hussey, Gorton's vice president of marketing, told IntraFish the Massachusetts-based company has been working for over a year to make its core products, such as its fish sticks, fresher and better tasting.

Those updates include simplifying ingredients by removing phosphates, and changing over from twice-frozen to once-frozen pollock for the brand's crunchy breaded fish sticks, crunchy breaded fish fillets, crispy battered fish fillets, beer battered fish fillets, fish sandwich fillets, lemon herb fish fillets, potato crunch fish fillets and beer battered fish tenders.
