German seafood company Frosta rolled out new paper bag packaging for its frozen foods range after three years of development.

The challenge was to create a paper bag that withstands a freezer's damp, cold environment.

The packaging is made of unbleached and uncoated sustainable paper with an effective barrier against grease and moisture.

The company has been packaging its meals in a recyclable film, since 2016, saving 10 percent on plastic, but the new bags will rid the packaging of plastic completely. They will be gradually rolled out starting in January.
