AMP Saumon de France, a niche-market French salmon and trout producer, has signed a deal to supply canning giant Petit Navire with sea-raised trout for its line of oak smoked salmon.
The fish produced off the northern Normandy coast of France is being supplied to Petit Navire's processing plant at Quimper, Brittany.
Initially Saumon de France will supply Petite Navire with 40 metric tons a year on a seasonal basis, AMP owner Pascal Goumain told IntraFish, adding that the deal helps with the company's diversification into sea-raised trout.
