Copper River salmon supply is up, and prices are dropping

With two fishing periods out of the way, ex-vessel prices have remained relatively steady, Bill Webber, owner of Paradigm seafoods, a harvester of Alaska salmon, told IntraFish Wednesday.

Since last week's opener, ex vessel prices for sockeye dropped from $10.00 (€8.96) to $6.00 (€5.38) per pound, and kings have only increased by $1.00 (€1.00) to $15.00 (€13.44) per pound.

"In-river escapement is above expected, warranting more fishing periods," he told IntraFish of how the season is shaping up.
