Chilean coho salmon producers are looking to refreshed products and frozen product forms to help them overcome seasonal supply challenges, reduce their reliance on Japanese business and open up a new market frontier.

"This is our third year selling fresh and frozen coho during the season and the rest of the year, and we have seen a very good acceptance of the product in the market," BluGlacier CEO Sebastian Goycoolea told IntraFish.

Chilean coho salmon production is forecast to grow as much as 14 percent this year to around 140,000 metric tons.
