Norway misses out on upwards of NOK 30 billion (€3.1 billion/$3.5 billion) in seafood value because a lot of its seafood is processed in countries such as Poland and Denmark and not at home, according to Renate Larsen, CEO of the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).

During a presentation of the country's record export figures, Larsen noted the country's processed seafood volume has fallen in recent years, while the proportion of unprocessed seafood exports has increased from 67 percent in 2010 to 72 percent in 2018.
