Troubled Bumble Bee Foods has filed a motion to dismiss a case filed by an Ohio man, who is suing the company over allegations it conspired with other major tuna brands to fix prices.
The company filed the motion June 27 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in response to Bryan Anthony Reo’s May 29 lawsuit.
Reo alleged that Bumble Bee conspired with other tuna fish manufacturing companies, StarKist and Chicken of the Sea, in order to create an unlawful trust to increase and fix prices relating to canned tuna fish.
