JCS Fish-owned brand BigFish was awarded the Quality Food & Drink Award for Best Smoked Fish for its signature smoked sea trout, a recognition given to British producers.

Louise Coulbeck, co-founder of JCS Fish, said the award was a "big win" for the company, proving that its fish was competitive with other products in the nation.

The BigFish Signature Smoked range, produced in Grimsby, is available from independent retailers and farm shops around the United Kingdom.

Alfred Enderby's traditional smoked haddock and Asda's smoked salmon were runners-up in the category.
