A second Washington state court has rejected efforts by Cooke to overturn the termination of the company’s lease for its Port Angeles netpen salmon operation in Port Angeles, Washington.

On Tuesday, the Washington State Court of Appeals issued an unpublished opinion affirming a lower court ruling that upheld the Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) initial decision to terminate the lease in 2020.

The Court of Appeals issues an unpublished opinion when the judge determines that the case lacks sufficient precedential value for full publication, usually because the case addresses already settled points of law.
