Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday pledged nearly CAD 470 million (€308.81 million/$336.62 million) to support the country's fishery workers and encouraged the country to "buy Canadian," the news site CBC reported Friday.

The pledge comes just days after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order that aims to boost the domestic seafood industry by streamlining aquaculture development and "cutting red tape" on the fisheries sector.
