An Alaska judge on Friday heard arguments from attorneys for American Seafoods subsidiaries Kloosterboer International Forwarding and Alaska Reefer Management's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction in US District Court in Anchorage to stop a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforcement action that threatens the ability to supply Alaska seafood to US customers and consumers, and has left parties waiting for her decision "in due course."

Lawyers for New York-based law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres -- which has notoriously gone to bat for former US President Donald Trump over sexual harassment and Russian collusion allegations -- heatedly argued over a phone line to Alaska District Judge Sharon Gleason that American Seafoods companies remained within the law regarding their unusual transportation measures, and that the US government is largely overstepping its constitutional boundaries in terms of penalties.
