The UK shellfish industry is threatening the government with legal action, claiming it misled the industry over its post-Brexit arrangements with the EU.
Andrew Oliver, a partner at Andrew Jackson LLP, told the Guardian the government had shown “negligence and maladministration” and that a group action was being considered for compensation.
He is representing 20 shellfish firms considering possible legal action against the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
