The Canadian fisheries minister is standing behind a decision to disallow Mowi from transferring or introducing any fish within British Columbia's Discovery Islands.
Mowi Canada West is asking a Canada federal court to exempt the company from one aspect of its Discovery Island Policy related to two licensed farming sites -- Phillips Arm and Hardwicke -- and allow for fish to be transferred to the sites to avoid more losses.
