Salmon farming giants, including Mowi, Leroy, SalMar, Cermaq, and Grieg, have agreed to pay $85 million (€80 million) to US seafood buyers who are plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit alleging the Norwegian farmed salmon giants conspired to fix salmon prices in the US market.

While all defendants rejected that there is any basis for the claims and consider the complaints to be entirely unsubstantiated, all defendants in the case have, following a mandatory mediation procedure, accepted a settlement, according to separate statements released on Wednesday by Mowi, Leroy, SalMar, and Grieg.
