Alaska seafood processor North Pacific Seafoods has agreed to pay a $1.9 million (€1.6 million) settlement as part of a class action lawsuit brought by processing plant workers who accused the company in 2020 of providing foul living and working conditions during the Alaska salmon season.

The agreement was reached after the parties held a full-day mediation in April, according to court documents. The court still needs to formally approve the settlement for it to be finalized.

On June 30, the worker plaintiffs in the lawsuit filed a motion with a US District Court for the Western District of Washington, saying North Pacific had agreed to the settlement amount.
