Yet another Alaska seafood producer is facing a class action lawsuit over working conditions at its facilities during the 2020 processing season.

A former employee has filed the lawsuit against Alaska seafood producer UniSea, claiming the company committed wage theft. The Nippon Suisan Kaisha-owned company processes crab, pollock and Pacific cod in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

The plaintiff, Amichai Ohring, filed the original complaint in March with a United States District Court in Washington state.

Ohring's lawyers allege UniSea underpays workers "on a daily basis," by failing to compensate them for the time spent getting dressed for shifts.
