The Ng family – owners of the once-powerful China-based seafood giant Pacific Andes – filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for another of its affiliates, just as the long-running bankruptcy process for the group’s Peruvian fishmeal subsidiary nears an end.

Directors Ng Joo Puay (“Frank”) and Ng Puay Yee (“Annie”) on Wednesday filed a petition with the Southern District of New York bankruptcy court for Pacific Andes Enterprises (Hong Kong) Limited, one of dozens of the company’s huge network of subsidiaries, according to documents filed in the China Fishery bankruptcy proceedings and data uncovered by the Offshore Leaks Database.
