Australian salmon farmer Huon has identified significant discrepancies in stock records at its Ingleburn processing factory over the six months to December 2020, with an estimated value of AUD 2.1 million (€1.3 million/$1.6 million).

The matter, identified under Huon’s existing compliance and risk management systems and processes, revealed the possibility of coordinated criminal conduct by employees at the plant.

The company has alerted New South Wales police and five Huon employees have been arrested and charged.
