A longtime worker with Thai Union-owned Chicken of the Sea who worked various human resources roles has sued the company, alleging she was fired in retaliation for raising concerns over misappropriation of funds intended for employee benefits.

In a lawsuit filed with a US District Court in Georgia Nov. 8, Leah Thomas said she was wrongfully terminated after reporting concerns with how contributions related to employee benefit plans were handled.

Georgia-based Thomas was employed with Chicken of the Sea for 11 years, according to the lawsuit.
