Reactions from the world's largest salmon feed producers are rolling in the wake of the Chilean National Economic Prosecutor's Office (FNE) accusing the groups of price-fixing and recommending a fine of $70 million (€63 million).

Cargill Aqua Nutrition, whose subsidiary Ewos was the whistleblower in the alleged decade-long collusion, noted that the scheme occurred prior to its ownership of the Norway-based feed group, but that it moved swiftly once it became aware of the issue.

"Employees alerted us and we conducted an investigation, which led us to self-report," a spokesperson told IntraFish.
