A court battle between the world's largest salmon producer and its former Ireland division boss kicked off in Oslo this week.

Former Mowi Ireland Managing Director Jan Feenstra is suing the company for NOK 1.1 million (€102,039/$107,512) plus interest and court costs, claiming he missed out on millions of Norwegian kroner after he was unable to redeem stock options during a notice period following his resignation and ultimate departure.

Options agreements are typically structured to give employees the opportunity to purchase shares at a given price.
