Cermaq Canada has filed another motion in Canada's federal court over the company being denied a license to transfer 1.5 million fish as part of its Discovery Islands operations in British Columbia.
The company has been denied the transfer request twice by Canada's federal fisheries minister.
Earlier this month the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) denied applications by Cermaq Canada to transfer the fish fish to the company’s Venture Point and Brent Island sites following a decision in December last year to phase out salmon farms in the region by June of 2022.
