It takes 35 minutes by ferry to reach Austevoll. The idyllic archipelago lies south off of Bergen, Norway, but has no road connecting it to the mainland.

From the company boardroom, Austevoll Seafood owner Helge Mogster has a view of the boats that come into the company's packing plant laden with salmon.

As a young man, Mogster worked as a fishing skipper. Now he controls the Austevoll empire through the investment company Laco, which owns the majority of shares in Austevoll Seafood, which in turn controls the giant Leroy Seafood Group.
