THE new vivier-crabber Annie B 988, which is named after Annie Friel, the six-year-old daughter of owner Charlie Friel, berthed in Co Donegal on Tuesday of this week on completion of a four-day delivery trip from Eyemouth that included negotiating 29 locks in the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Fort William, reports David Linkie.

Built at Eyemouth by Coastal Marine Boatbuilders, the sub-15m Annie is almost identical to the vivier-crabber Mary Ellen B 915 which was built at the same Berwickshire boatyard in 2004 for Charlie Friel to plans drawn up by Macduff Ship Design.
