Fisheries sustainability "is not a catch phrase," said Kristinn Hjalmarsson, director at Iceland Sustainable Fisheries, at the recent SeaWeb Seafood Summit in Seattle, United States.
Sustainability does not only concern fisheries management, the status of the stocks and the effects of the gear on the ecology, he told IntraFish, adding a lot more factors need to be factored in.
