The United States Congress is once again asking the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) to investigate how organic standards can be applied to seafood -- this time for wild fisheries.

In March, the NOP, the regulatory framework in the United States governing organic food, will hold a virtual town hall to "evaluate wild-caught fishery systems and to assess the feasibility and appropriateness of developing organic production, handling, and labeling standards for wild-caught seafood."
