US scallop firms anticipating banner year as season begins

Scallop prices have remained high ahead of the 2019 fishing season, which starts April 1.

The New England Fishery Management Council (NEFMC) expects 62.5 million pounds of landings for the 2019 fishing year, which is slightly above landings for the current season, which through March 29 stood at approximately 56.8 million pounds.
