The UK government on Wednesday announced the granting of additional autonomous tariff quotas (ATQs) for coldwater shrimp imports for the remainder of 2022, following pleas from the industry.

The government is allocating a further 3,200 metric tons on top of the original 6,500 metric tons ATQ for the period Oct. 13 to Dec. 31.

Autonomous tariff quotas (ATQs) allow limited quantities of specific goods to be imported at a reduced tax rate.
