The United Kingdom's National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations (NFFO) has slammed the post Brexit trade deal reached on Christmas Eve, as a "betrayal" and accused the UK government of ‘caving in’ on securing a good deal for fishermen.

The agreement struck will see, after a further five years adjustment period, the UK’s share of Channel cod increase from 9.3 percent to 10.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the UK’s share of Celtic Sea haddock will increase from 10 percent to 20 percent, leaving 80 percent in the hands of the EU fleets for a further five years.
