Thanks to inflationary pressure on fuel -- made worse by Russia's invasion of Ukraine -- the larger 20-meter beam trawlers that operate out of the port, are paying upwards of £24,000 (€27,000/$27,000) for a week’s fuel.
That figure is around double what they were paying last year, and for a sector that operates on already thin margins, it's having "a devastating effect."
