A scallop vessel with six crew on board sunk off the coast of Nova Scotia early Tuesday.

The vessel, scallop dragger Chief William Saulis, sent an emergency signal around 5:50 am local time from the Bay of Fundy around 40 kilometers northeast of Digby, according to the Toronto Star and Canadian Press.

The vessel is owned by Yarmouth Sea Products.

The Canadian Coast Guard launched a search with three vessels, a helicopter and an aircraft, but no sign of the crew had been found as of late Tuesday.
