Last week Namibian authorities officially closed their investigation into the so-called "Fishrot Scandal," a case stemming from leaked documents suggesting Icelandic fishing company Samherji bribed Namibian officials in exchange for lucrative fishing quotas in the country’s waters.

The case, known in Namibia as the Fishcor corruption case, has now been transferred to Namibia’s High Court, reports The Iceland Review.

"The most significant development in Namibia came on Monday," Bjorn Richard Johansen, media liaison on behalf of Samherji Co-CEO Bjorgolfur Johannsson, told IntraFish.
