Whitefish giant Russian Fishery Company (RFC) significantly ramped up production of frozen-at-sea (FAS) deep-processed pollock products in the third quarter of 2021, in line with its new strategy to increase the value of its exports.

The output of pollock fillets, mince and surimi, produced on board fishing trawlers grew 17 percent year-on-year, and by 20 percent through September.

“Ongoing modernization of RFC’s fleet and, most importantly, the commissioning of the first super-trawler of the new fleet allow the company to fulfill the strategic task of increasing the FAS production of value-added products,” said RFC CEO Viktor Litvinenko.
