Russia’s total allowable catch (TAC) in the Moroccan fishing zone for 2019 is set at 140,000 metric tons, up 8 percent compared with the previous year, according to the country’s fishery agency, Rosrybolovstvo.

The new TAC was adopted at the Joint Russian-Moroccan Joint Fisheries Commission, which took place in Agadir on Feb.18-19.

Mackerel, horse mackerel and anchovy were allocated the bulk of Russia’s TAC in Morocco with 75 percent of the total.

Sardine and sardinella came second with 23 percent share, while bycatches are set at 2 percent of the total.
